Original Circa 1914 12" Robbins & Myers R&M Partners Desk Fan.  Acquired from a lifelong fan collection, this very unique and unusual example was acquired from an antique shop in Springfield Ohio many years ago.  Fellow fan collector Darryl Hudson found what appears to be a later model with steel cages many years ago in neglected condition in Knoxville Tennessee.  Both examples utilized the model 2104 motor.  Included in this listing is a photo we acquired with a collection of rare and never seen before fans, the 8" partners example in the included photo is from 1913 and yet another example of Robbins and Myers toying with the introduction of a stationary partner model.  In our library of catalogs, we have "Booklet 96" dated 1913 showing the wrapped brass open ring guard being fitted to models.  In 1914 R&M introduced the model 2104 as a 6 blade stationary desk model with brass blade and brass guard displaying "The Standard" flag logo attached.  While servicing this model we closely inspected the rotor for signs of "customization" or modifications that might deviate from factor standards.  A photo of the rotor is included in the listing showing its characteristics and confirming it appears to be authentic factory produced.  This model features an R&M blade as well as a Westinghouse (reverse pitch) that disburses the breeze in both (partner) directions.  In 1913 R&M was still acquiring trunnion mounted stationary desk fans from Westinghouse and offering them under the R&M Standard name, this relationship provided R&M with the reverse pitch blade necessary to make this partners model.  All metal components still retain their beautiful original finish displaying minimal chipping and scratching for its age.  Brass guard and blades were polished upon finding it years ago by the collector we acquired it from.  When found, the original brass cage badges were badly damaged (as most everyone ever found) and they attached new examples made to the exact specification as the originals.  Also, when found the original head wire was badly deteriorated and was replaced with OTR+W which at that time was being supplied by the creator Howard Granoff.  When we acquired this model the power cord require replacement, and we upgraded that using our superior OTR+W period correct cloth covered cord.  Fan operates perfectly on 3 distinct speeds.  Very unusual and rare model we believe to be from the R&M product development department that was never introduced into their product line.
