Circa 1914 12"R&M 6 blade stationary desk fan. This example features a base and motor housing made of drawn or stamped steel. This "new" material was first introduced with this model year fan and became a lighter weight replacement for cast iron. Brass guard still retains the same construction from the cast iron era with thin brass "the standard" flag badge. The flag badged dispayed on this model was created by Stan Good of Tampa Florida in the 1990's.  Stan created a handfull of cast brass parts, in the 1990's this was your only option for a replacement at that time, today this represents a piece of history in the progression of reproduction parts.  Made from stamped or drawn steel, these models have proven not to retain original finishes well over 100 years. This example is rare to have an original finish in this condition. Some areas show signs of wear on the base and motor but is very minimal. Around the bottom of the base is a large "lip", this area was famous for ctaching dirt and moisture.  Looking closely, the wide lip around the bottom of the base appears to have been refinished at some point in the past 100 plus years.   Original pinstripes are still present and visible in locations.  We have disassembled this fan and completely serviced for years of future use. Headwire and power cord were upgraded to our superior otr+w product. This fan runs super smooth and quiet!!!  An excellent example ready for daily use!!
