Presenting from the Prairie House Collection belonging to a dedicated fan enthusiast and collector, comes this Circa 1911 12" Sprague Ball Motor DC Oscillating Desk Fan in original condition. This highly distinctive design showcases Sprague's unique ball motor construction paired with an elongated oscillator gearbox, creating one of the most distinctive and sophisticated fan designs of the era. The fan features a brass "Drop Ring" guard manufactured by GE and badged with Sprague's beautiful logo. To our knowledge, the finish is all original and is in great condition. It should look stunning with a careful cleaning and waxing. The fan runs quietly on 115V DC with pleasant brush noise and operates on three distinct speeds as intended. There is a slight vibration in the blade during operation, but the fan oscillates smoothly. The blade is not consistent with examples we have encountered in the past. The head wire appears to be original and exhibits some fraying, while the power cord appears to be in good condition. This is a rare DC and is great addition to a collection.
