Circa 1910 12" Emerson Type 11666 Ornate Base Desk Fan Original. If you love early 1900's ornate stationary fans, this fan is the total package. With its ornate cast iron base and motor complimented by the impressive cast hub 6 wing parker blade, early fan. This fan was recently acquired from a private collection. Original examples such as this are becoming increasingly hard to find. The original japanned finish is in great condition and shines like new - the base even retains it original speed indicators. There are minor areas of paint missing on the base and on the edge of the base. The brass has been polished at some point and has since developed a nice patina that displays beautifully with the original black finish. The fan runs excellently and is very quiet. There are two speeds, but there is little separation between them. When running on 104V the amp reading for speed one is .94 and speed two is .84. We recommend starting on high speed and then moving to low as this fan contains a centrifugal switch. The centrifugal start switch operates perfectly with the iconic "clicking" sound on start-up and coasting to a stop. Fan can be adapted for wall mounting applications. Fan has been serviced and new head wire and power cord have been installed. This is a must-have fan for a collection. This is a great opportunity to acquire this beautiful original Emerson Type 11666.
