Description

Circa 1908 12" GE "BMY" Desk Fan. This stunning example has been restored in a rich Wine Red Enamel (a factory option for this model from GE).  Brass was highly polished at time of restoration and has been left to age nicely.  We estimate this restoration to have been executed several years ago and some mild signs of handling can be seen in the finish, there is a small chip on the lowest lip of the base.  Headwire appears to have been replaced at time of restoration.   We upgraded the power cord using our OTR+W cloth covered power cable.  We have preformed a service on this fan which includes clean and waxed the finish, new switch insulator, new power cord, new wick and oil and one of our BMY instruction labels on the bottom cover.  The motor also has new bearings front and rear.  Excellent example of an early GE Big Motor Fan restored in a factory optional color.
