Circa 1916 12" GE 2 Star 4 brass blade oscillating desk fan. No. 1196455 Cat. #75423 Type AO Form S1. This fan design was GE's workhorse throughout the mid to late teens. This highly desirable 2-Star oscillator, named for its two star-shaped adjustment knobs, features painted brass blades and a wrapped steel guard. It was refinished prior to our acquisition to resemble how it left the factory, finished in its original dark (Pullman) green color. We cleaned and waxed the fan to bring out its shine. As part of our service, the gearbox was disassembled and cleaned of all old grease, then refilled with fresh grease. The oil cups were removed and cleaned, the old wicks were replaced with new ones, and fresh oil was added. A copy of the original instruction label was applied to the bottom of the fan. Our inspection indicated that the head wire and power cord were replaced prior to our acquisition and are in good condition. The runs and oscillates smoothly on three distinct speeds as intended. This is an excellent fan for daily use and also provides pleasant white noise for sleeping.
