Original 8" Brass Blade & Guard Lindstrom Smith Co White Cross Desk Fan

From the Prairie House Collection, assembled by a dedicated fan enthusiast and collector, comes this desirable Original 8" Lindstrom Smith Co. White Cross Desk Fan featuring its original brass blade and brass cage.  The head wire consists of rubber-insulated wires and appears to be in good condition.  The original power cord will need to be replaced for safe operation. The motor has a short, so we only briefly powered the fan for testing. During that time, the commutator began smoking, and the fan operated on two of its intended three speeds. The blade will also require balancing. Despite these operational issues, this is a desirable and increasingly difficult-to-find White Cross that with some attention will be a great addition to a collection.
