Circa 1947 General Electric "Vortalex" 10" Oscillating Desk Fan. Everytime I see this fan, the question of "Where is the box?" comes to my mind. An absolutely Amazing all original example of this iconic mid century fan. By the late 40's fans had become a staple of household appliances and this example apears to not been used very much. The finish GE used during this period was not as tough and durable as that used on their earlier fans thus lending itself to scratching and chipping. However, the finish on this fan is incredible!!! It appears to be the original headwire, power cord, and felt. An absolute beauty!!! We serviced the gearbox and oiling system. Fan runs and oscillates great on its 2 intended speeds. Excellent original examples are becoming harder to find. This is perfect for a daily runner!
