Circa 1930's modernist Royal Rochester pedestal fan original condition.  This epitomizes many different eras of design and ranks as one of the best "modernist" fan case designs. H.H. Schott designed this fan housing for Robeson-Rochester corporation of New York. In a 1938 Raabe Mauger hardware ad they referred to this fan as "the aristocrat of fandom". Fan uses a "Fasco" motor made by Fasco industries Rochester NY. I have run this fan for extended periods of time, and the motor gives off a warm smell.  This is consistent with the other Royal Rochester's I have owned/sold.  A fan of such great design could have used a beefier more reliable motor, but my guess is they didn't intend for the fan to be around for 90 years. Fan has been cleaned and serviced.  Power cord has been upgraded. Beautiful work of art that looks even better in operation.
