Circa 1937 Gilbert Oscillating 10" "Swan" in original condition. This oscillating desk fan is art in motion. The design gives the appearance that the motor is floating when oscillating - it's mesmerizing. The fan has been cleaned and serviced. The cage is made of steel, and it has been plated in chrome and the original "wrinkle" finish on the motor is in good condition with some very little white paint specks on the motor (as seen in the photo). We chose not to try to remove them as it adds to the story of its history - imagine sometime in the last 90+ years the fan being used to dry the paint as it was applied in the room. The head wire and power cord were replaced at some point and are in good condition. Operating on 2 distinct speeds as designed, this fan can be set for oscillating or stationary. A functional piece of art, this would be ideal for daily use or a decor statement.
