Circa 1922 12" General Electric Type AUU Stationary Desk Fan. This is one of GE's most popular fans - known for its reliability and suitability as a daily runner. The original dark iconic green finish is in really good condition retaining its shine. Adding to its character, the fan features very subtle white paint splatters on the base and some small areas of missing paint on the motor and base, signifying 100+ years of use. This highlights its charm and its reliability as a trusted daily runner. I envision someone painting a room decades ago, using this fan to cool the space and create a gentle breeze to help the paint dry. The fan features brass blades that have developed a very nice patina and a steel cage with the classic GE script logo. There are areas of original green paint missing on the cage & badge as seen in the photos. The fan has been cleaned and serviced and the wiring has been upgraded to period-correct cloth-covered cord. It runs perfectly smooth on three speeds. This is an excellent fan and is ideal for a daily runner offering reliability and a smooth breeze and/or white noise.
