From the prairie house collection, assembled by a dedicated fan enthusiast and collector, comes this, this circa 1913 Emerson type 17666 brass blade and guard desk fan.  Proportion, design and reliability do not get any better than this large motor 6 blade Emerson. This is the last style of an Emerson stationary model to feature their impressive cast hub 6 wing blade. The smooth "step" base design is also preparing to be fazed out. The motor and trunnion still retain their original finish while the base has been refinished.   Portions of the brass blades appear to have been polished at some point but have started to develop a nice patina.  Fan was tested and operated on 3 distinct speeds at the tagged voltage of 110 v ac.  Headwire appears to have been replaced at some point with twisted rubber insulated 3 conductor.  Brass cage could use a little tweaking to tighten its framework.   With a cleaning and servicing this will make an exceptional fan for daily use.

Dimensions:  H17" x W13" x D8"
