From the Prairie House Collection, assembled by a dedicated fan enthusiast and collector, comes this Circa 1912 16" Emerson 16648 lever oscillator desk fan. This is the last model to utilize the highly desirable lever oscillator that Emerson first offered in 1909. This is an all-original example with Emerson’s iconic deep black japanned finish.  The original finish looks great with blade and cage that have been polished in the past and are beginning to develop a slight patina.  The Cage has some repairs and needs straightening as seen in photos and the original finish on the motor housing and base have some chipping, but it just adds to the character of the fan.  The head wire is in good new condition, and the power cord also appears new.  Fan runs on three distinct speeds, and it has some vibration from an unbalanced blade.  It oscillates smoothly but has some gear noise and the top oscillator wheel #4 hole is broken/stripped.  The amps run high; H 1.74, M 1.43, and L 1.37.    This is a large wind maker!! Ideal for a large space or top shelf in a fan collection!
