All Original Circa 1920 12” GEC Tab Base Freezor Magnet Desk Fan. The General Electric Company (GEC) was founded in Birmingham, England by Gustav Binswanger and Hugo Hirst. GEC fans are renowned for their cast iron and brushed motors, and this piece is an outstanding, well-preserved example.
The cast iron retains its original finish, which has been meticulously cleaned and waxed to a glass-like shine and displaying the original pinstriping on the trunnion, base, and around the speed indicators. The distinctive Freezor decal on the neck also remains intact!! The cage and blade have been carefully cleaned, revealing a beautiful patina and highlights the super cool badge!
Versatile in its design, this fan can be used as either a desk or wall-mounted fan. It runs on 220V A.C. and features three distinct speeds. The original head wire remains for the purest collector, and the power cord has been upgraded. This fan has been fully serviced and would be an exceptional addition to any collection or a striking decor piece for a desk or wall.
