Circa 1933 8" GE quiet blade oscillating desk fan rare ivory color. This original example is the earliest and features the "s" design cage wires that became standard in the teens and twenties. The finish is a very attractive ivory color and was an available option on this model. The ivory finish is rare to find as it did not hold up well over time; however, this model appears to be original and the ivory finish is in very good condition.  There is a spot where the cage rubbed against the blade, but the fan is 90+ years old and it is a testament to how well this fan was taken care of.  We acquired it from a 97 year-old collector that kept it on his bookshelf and would use it on warm summer nights.  We have disassembled and serviced the fan. All gears from the gearbox have been removed, cleaned, and fresh grease added. Oiler has been cleaned of all old oil/grease and new wick and oil installed. New head wire, power cord, feet have been installed.  Also new felt has been applied to the bottom cover.  It blows a very soothing breeze on its one intended speed, and it oscillates effortlessly.  The graceful motion of the aluminum blade while oscillating back and forth is mesmerizing!   The fan is perfect for a desk or wall mountable.  Beautiful addition to your home or collection and perfect for a daily runner.
