Circa 1920 9" Robbins & Myers List #2610 Oscillating Desk Fan features a distinctive 5-wing brass blade. During a time period when current type was being standardized across the country, R&M offered this "Universal" motor fan to operate on both Alternating or Direct Currents. This example displays its beautiful original finish, retaining some of its original pinstripes, and its original speed indicator numbering (which appears perfect). The original blade retains areas of the original lacquer combined with beautiful areas of patina. Fan operates beautifully on 3 distinct speeds. We have carefully disassembled and serviced this example. It runs well, oscillates on three distinct speeds, and can be wall mounted. This is a top shelf example for collectors, this fan operates well!! It does run a little warm but I am told by some of the best in the fan club that "these fans have a tendancy to run warm". It also has some area paint missing as displayed in the photos.
