Amazing all-original Circa 1914 9" Emerson Type 21645 Oscillating Desk Fan. The 21645 was a transitional model that features several desirable design characteristics including the cast iron blade hub and the narrower step base. The cast iron hub and blade is in excellent condition, runs true and smooth, and retains its wonderful original patina. The cast iron components retain Emerson’s exceptional original japanned finish, which displays beautifully in a deep black and remains in great condition. There is some paint loss around the edge of the narrower step base (as displayed in photos). The adjustable collar and gearbox also have some paint loss, which is common on these models, as Emerson used a different finish on these components. It just adds to the legacy and charm of the fan! We disassembled, cleaned, and serviced this example and new grommets and feet were installed. The head wire was replaced prior to our acquisition and remains in good condition. A new power cord was installed using USA-produced OTR+W wire. The fan operates on three distinct speeds at 110V AC and oscillates smoothly as designed. Beautiful example of this highly desirable Emerson model.
