Circa 1914 12" GE SMY Desk Fan. Complimenting the BMY design, GE offered a smaller motor with its Smaller Motor held in place by a Yoke. Ideal for the collector who loves to tinker and feel rewarded for their work, this example will make an ideal daily running fan. Motor/yoke appear to retain their original finish while the base displays as having had a "refreshing" at some point in the last 109 years. Wiring will need to be upgraded. Brass blades and parallel ring cage showcase a rich patina. Fan operates on 3 speeds as intended. Blade requires some minimal balancing for smooth operation. Also noted, one strut to motor screw is not original and would need to be replaced to be authentically correct.
