Circa 1912 12" Fidelity "Open Gear" Oscillating Desk Fan Original Finish. Pleased to offer such a wonderful example of a rarely found Fidelity Electric Co. of Lancaster PA oscillating fan. Recently acquired from an outstanding personal collection, this is a premier example! Fidelity was not known for its smooth finishing techniques often appearing as though they were painted with a brush and this fan is a great display of this original finish. Fan operates on 3 distinct speeds via the original switch located in the base, there appears to be an older repair to the ceramic switch body but is solid and working. Oscillator design is very open and exposed compared to other oscillators of the period leaving no guessing on the mechanics. The oscillating motion is very quick and snappy making for a unique and crude motion. Excellent collector grade fan!
