From the Prairie House Collection, assembled by a dedicated fan enthusiast and collector, comes this Circa 1911 8" Emerson 14644 Desk Fan. Emerson's 8" line of desk fans has become one of the most highly collectible series of antique fans. This example retains a nice original finish and displays well as it sits, but it should look even better after cleaning and waxing. There are a couple of brush touch-ups on the base that were done very well and blend nicely with the surrounding finish. The brass blade and cage were polished at some point in the past but are developing a nice patina that complements the fan's presentation. The head wire has some fraying near the motor and should be replaced. The power cord has been replaced with a twisted wire cord. The fan operates smoothly on all three intended speeds at 110V AC. The cage wires should be tightened around the rear ring, the motor housing grommet is missing, and a brass screw on the rear motor housing will need to be replaced. There are also two holes drilled in the rear cast iron motor housing and yellow tape is visible. Overall, this is a nice running 8" Emerson Fan
