Circa 1910 GE "BMY" 12" Desk Fan. In 1909 GE Redesigned Their Residential Desk Fan To What Collectors Refer To As A "Big Motor Yoke or BMY". This Is The Second Variant Of The "BMY" Design Which Features Flat Brass Stock Struts That Mount To The Outside Of The Motor Housing And A 10.25" Pivot Height (Squatty Base). With This Design Came The Elimination Of The Centrifugal Start Switch Providing More Consistent Starts When Turned On. This Example Still Retains Its Original Finish Which Has Been Cleaned And Waxed. The Motor Has A New Period Correct Cloth Covered Wire, We Used Our Superior OTR+W Wire Which Is Available On Our Website. We Also Upgraded The Power Cord With Period Correct Cloth Covered Wire And Vintage Style Plug. The Oil Cups Have Been Cleaned Of All Old Oil And Debris, We Replaced The Old Wick With New Felt Wicking And Fresh Oil. Fan Operates Via Switch On Base In Three Distinct Speeds. Ideal Fan For Daily Use And When Not In Use Displays Beautifully.
