Circa 1909 Restored 12" Westinghouse Electric Original Nickel plated vane oscillator desk fan. A highly desirable early vane oscillator, acquired from theestate/collection of Stan Good in Tampa Florida we are pleased to present the only example we have seen of this rare factory offering. The original nickel finish is in wonderful condition. When found, the fan had been restored in a not so wonderful red finish with the original black under. We had the fan stripped and refinished back to its original black lacquered finish. When found the back ring of the guard had split and required repairing/replacing. In order to save the rare finish on the guards components we simply left the back ring raw brass. The upper vane keeper support also required replacement and it was left in raw brass. If desired the back ring and upper keeper arm could be finished to closely match the original nickel. The factory painted the return pieces for vane as shown in the photos. Motor nuts also display some original nickel finish remaining. In 30 plus years of collecting, I have never seen another example in this finish. When supplied with its specified 100–110V AC, the fan operates smoothly on two distinct speeds as designed. The power cord was updated at time of restoration.
