This 1908 Diehl Pullman Train Car Fan Was Found In Asheville NC At The Tobacco Barn Antique Mall In 1997. I Found 3 Of These And Kept One Example For A Complete Restoration. Restoration Was Started A Few Months After Being Acquired And Completed A Few Months Later. The Fan Appears As Though The Restoration Was Just Completed Yesterday, Not 25 Years Ago. When Found, The Top Layer Of Paint Was Dark Green, In Keeping With The As Found Color It Seemed Only Fitting To Apply Iconic Pullman Green. All Cast Iron Components Were Stripped Down Cleaned And Then Layered With Self Etching Primer Before Applying A Single Stage Automotive Finish. All Brass Components Were Polished And Lacquered. Fan Operates Perfectly On 30v DC. More Than Likely, These Fans Were Installed In The "Carolina Special" Passenger Cars Shown In Photo To The Left. These Pullman Passenger Cars Passed Through The Asheville Railway Station Which Was Located Only A Mile Or So From The Tobacco Barn Antique Mall In Biltmore Village. Rich Piece Of History!!
