Original Circa 1906 16" Diehl universal ornate base desk fan. This very rare and desirable model features a beautiful ornate cast iron base with three tab feet. This example retains its original finish, with the gold leaf paint still visible on the embossed speed indicators, as shown in the photos. There are areas of paint loss but great condition considering its age. Motor is equipped with 2 new bearings and runs perfectly. The original switch lever was missing so we installed a custom fabricated one from our porcelain diehl switch offering. New period correct cloth cord has been installed from base to motor and base to outlet. This is a very larger and impressive fan that can really move air or provide a nice gentle breeze if desired. Very rare offering.  The fan is designed to operate on 110V DC, but it is equipped with a bridge rectifier, allowing it to run on standard residential AC power.
