Circa 1906 2nd variant 12" GE Trunnion Mount Pancake Motor Desk Fan. Little did GE realize the "Pancake" line of desk fans would become such an iconic symbol of fan collection. This beautiful example was acquired as part of a large New England area collection. Fans contained in that collection were either nice original or had been painted by a local professional auto restorer. This example appears to be have been painted by the auto restorer. When acquired, the front bearing had more wear than I would like, it was sent to Darryl Hudson for one of his signature professionally machined bearings. The blade was professionally balanced by Paul Graves at Times Past Fans of Harrison Arkansas. This fan operates perfectly on 5 distinct speeds. Fan has been cleaned and serviced at Antique Fan Supply Co. and is ready for display or daily use. Excellent example!!
