From the "Museum Collection of Steve Cunningham", we are pleased to offer this beautiful 1905 Manhattan No.3 9" Bipolar Battery Fan. Displaying an open motor design, the Manhattan #3 leaves nothing to the imagination of how this little motor works. The rewound exposed field coil combined with the exposed commutator and flat stock brushes looks almost like a science experiment. This beautifully restored example graced the Antique Fan Collectors Museum shelves for many years until recently. Fan operates on 8V DC being controlled by a lever switch mounted to the solid oak base. An impressive example, ideal for the collector or someone who appreciates early electric motor/fan design.
