Circa 1905 Manhattan No.3 Bipolar 9" Battery Fan All Original. Recently acquired from a private collection comprised of amazing examples, we are pleased to offer this stunning all original early 1900's Manhattan #3 Battery Fan. Displaying an open motor design, the Manhattan #3 leaves nothing to the imagination of how this little motor works. The exposed field coil combined with the exposed commutator and flat stock brushes looks almost like a science experiment. This pristine example was detailed and cleaned by its former owner and prominently displayed in a climate controlled living environment. Fan operates perfectly on 6V DC being controlled by a lever switch mounted to the solid oak base. An impressive example, ideal for the purist collector or someone who appreciates early design and originality.
