Stunning Circa 1902 Diehl Mfg. 4 Blade "Hatbox" Direct Current Ceiling Fan. Acquired From The Daughter Of AN Architectural Salvage Owner In The 1970's & 1980's. She Recollected Her Father Stating That It Was Removed From A Large Mill In The Connecticut Area. While Living In The Area This Fan Was Installed In Her Home. Then Plus Years Ago She Moved South Taking The Fan But Not Utilizing It In Her Home. The Ornate Filigree On This Housing Is Simply Beautiful. I Believe The Finish To Be Completely Original. When Tested, I Did Not Find The Fan To Operate As Smoothly As I Would Like. The Motor And Its Operation Were Serviced By The Amazingly Talented Paul Graves Of Times Past Fans. Paul's Credentials Over The Past 30 Plus Years Are Unmatched! When This Fan Left His Shop, Your Assured It Is The Best It Can Be After 120 Years. Fan Operates On 110v DC (A Bridge Rectifier Has Been Installed For Operation On AC), Recommend Desired Speed Be Achieved By Use Of A Wall Mounted Motor Control (Looks Just Like A Light Dimmer). Blades Appear To Have Been Refinished At Some Point. An Absolutely Beautiful Fan That Is Sure To Make A Statement In Any Setting.
