Circa 1900 Edison "C" Frame Battery Fan In Amazing All Original Condition. From The Estate Of Bob Brent (1915-2001). Bob Grew Up In Wisconsin, The Son Of A Lutheran Minister, Who Felt Bob's Calling Would Be Following In His Footsteps. At The Age Of 15 Bob Ran Away From Home And Became A Harvest Tramp In The Midwest. After Several Very Hard Years He Found Himself On The East Coast, Where He Signed On As A Sailor On A Small Sailing Cargo Ship. His Family Noted That He Felt Happier And More Successful Than He Had Been On Dry Land. He Went From Berth To Berth On Coastal Schooners And Finally As An Experienced Hand, He Signed On With The US Navy. Bob Noted World War II Introduced Him To People And Ideas In The World Of Industry And He Found Them Fascinating To One Of His Intellectual Bent. Dumb Luck Having Brought Me A Journeyman's Card In The Typographical Union At The Age Of 21, I Fitted In Comfortably To Being A Union Man In WWII Shipbuilding And Later In Electrical Construction On Shore. Entire Provenance Available To New Owner.
Bobs Family Noted That He Was Collector Of Unusual Items During His Lifetime, This Edison Fan Being One Of Them. The Fan Was Discovered When Sorting Through His Estate, The Family Assumed He Acquired This Fan While Doing Some Electrical Work In His Early Years. The Condition Of This Fan Is A Testament To Bobs Appreciation For Unique Industrial Design Artifacts. We Have Cleaned And Serviced This Example And It Operates Perfectly. Only Minor Issue I Observed Was A Wrinkle In One Blade Wing. Amazing Fan With A Prior Owners Inspirational Story.
