Circa 1908 56" Emerson Fern leaf Ceiling Fan. This 1908 Emerson Fern leaf ceiling fan was beautifully restored in brass/gold plating prior to us acquiring it. Since acquiring it, we have fully serviced and reconditioned it. The motor has been completely disassembled and serviced. All the coils have been checked for leakage and have been reinsulated. The bearings have been inspected for wear and have been cleaned and greased. All wiring has been replaced and all connections checked and secured. While the fan retains its original 3 speed switch which is wired to a choke coil and produces 3 speeds, we recommend using a wall mounted speed control that we will provide. The blades were cleaned to display the beautiful wood tone and pair nicely with the gold/brass finish and refreshed black matte ring on the motor. The fan runs smooth and balanced. This is the perfect complement to any décor, adding sophistication to the space.
An interesting detail of this fan is found in the blade brackets, they were custom created by a group of Dallas/Fort Worth Texas Ceiling Fan Collectors who felt the brackets detail shouldn't be hidden atop the blade. They created this custom bracket which mounts to the wooden blades face showing the support structure, creating a cool detail.
