Manufactured in 1909, this is Emerson Manufacturing's first Oscillating Fan. From the lifelong collection of the late Stan Good of Tampa Florida. Known for his "Overspray restorations", Stan had repainted portions of this fan that appear to still retain a wonderful oriignal finish beneth. Fan motor has been rewound by Rick Huckabee and seen minimal runtime since. When acquired, one of the notorious gears for oscillation was badly worn thus the fan would not oscillate. New technology generated a perfectly fitting and working steel gear. This is an example of the earliest oscillating technology from Emerson Electric. This fan has it all!! Rare model ideal for a serious fan collector. This is also the only AC model that has a cast hub blade that mounts to the rotor shaft and doesnt thread onto the rotor. This is also a single speed fan with internal start switches. The brass has been polished at some point but has started to develop a bit of patina over time. The bottom corner of this oscillator box appears to be missing...odd story is a very well known fan collector/restorer found the first one of these in the early days of collecting that was the same way. He figured that it was a piece that had broken off so he repaired it and reattached the gear box, the fan would not oscillate. He ended up taking the corner back off the box so he could align the box to the worm gear. There have been many other 2210's surface that are also missing the corner of the gearbox. At the time this fan was introduced, oscillation was a new invention for Emerson and there could have been manufacturing issues that caused the need to remove this for proper alignment of the gearbox.
