Original circa 1912 8" Westinghouse "all brass" original gun metal blue finish desk fan. In 1912 Westinghouse offered its 8" desk fan in a variety of finishes. This fan features an amazing, well preserved gun metal blue finish. Some collectors prefer the solid polished brass appearance, and they would remove the gunmetal blue to achieve that finish. Fortunately, this example has avoided the buffer for 110+ years. The brass blades and guard have developed a wonderful gold patina! This fan features the fine wire cage and Westinghouse stencil banner badge, the most desirable and attractive variation. It is truly a remarkable fan! It has been cleaned and serviced with brand new wick and fresh oil and a new power cord installed. This fan operates on 3 distinct speeds as designed. One of the brush caps appears to have been replaced.
