With its release in 1897, Otis C. Whites catalog offered a full line of "adjustable holders for incandescent lamps". The offerings included many varieties of ceiling, wall and desk mounted lamps. Little did Otis realize the impact his lighting line would have on future generations. Originally intended for assisting the American worker at the turn of the century those same lamps today are on display and in use in major retail stores, residential settings, and widely embraced by international culture. This O.C. White desk / bench standard lamp has been restored in keeping with its rich iron color that creates a true industrial feel. Color has been preserved using a waxed finish that is moisture resistant leaving a matte sheen. Wiring was upgraded to a period style correct cloth covered cord.  Large paddle socket is a modern upgrade with perfect period correct style. Lamp is designed for fixed mounting on any surface.  Lamp can also be affixed to a weighted base for use as a moveable fixture.  White riffled shade is included with purchase or can be paired with another shade from our currently available inventory (please inquire before purchasing). We felt the ruffled shade "softened" the industrial feel creating greater versatility.
