Custom Limited Production Table Top Gyro Fan By "The Bowers Fan Company"
This beautiful table top gyro fan was produced by "The Bowers Fan Company". Starting in 2000, "The Bowers Fan Company" was a one man operation in Keifer Oklahoma. Ed Bowers (Founder) had been collecting Antique Electric Fans for 10 years when recovery from back surgery left him with idle time. Ed headed out to his backyard workshop, loaded up the woodstove on a chilly Oklahoma winter day. Surrounded by parts and pieces of Antique Emerson Fan's (Eds favorite brand) he began to visually create. With a background in Mechanical Engineering, he wanted to challenge himself to create a table model Gyro fan using common and easy to acquire antique fan parts. At the time Ed created these fans, the Emerson Jr models were easy to find making them ideal for the basis to his fans. To give the gyro a solid footing, he paired these motors to a cast iron Emerson "Step base". Over the years Ed created 35 examples, each numbered and logged with the company. Ed has no plans to create more, this is a rare opportunity to own a fan that in time will only gain in value.
