Circa 1947 General Electric "Vortalex" 10" Oscillating Desk Fan. Incredible all original condition example...I ask myself, "Where is the box?" By the late 40's fans had become a staple of household appliances and were often given as wedding gifts for newlyweds. This example apears to have been stored away in the closet and forgotten about until the estate was settled. We acquired this beauty from a collector who had it on display, again years of sitting and not being used. The finish ge used during this period was not as tough and durable as that used on their earlier fans thus lending itself to scratching and chipping. The only sign of wear on the finish of this fan can be found on the gearbox lid (four small scratches). The guard is in perfect condition!! Original headwire, power cord, grommets, and felt. An absolute beauty!!! We serviced the gearbox and oiling system. Just like walking into the appliance store in 1947, you too can enjoy the quality of the 80 year old fan as if it is new. Excellent Original Examples Are Harder To Find.
