Circa 1934 10" Emerson Electric Silver Swan 1st year model Restored in Ivory.  Stunning Early example of Emerson's Iconic Art Deco Desk Fan of the 1930's.  This early example was acquired from a private collection and found in neglected condition.  Reviewing our direction for the restoration decided it would display best in a nice ivory finish paired with polished aluminum.  Results of the finished product are an excellent compliment to the streamlined design and a better color choice than offered originally by Emerson (in my opinion).  We believe this to be a first year model containing features seen in the patent drawing and not found on the majority of other examples.  The oscillator shaft features a "Slide Collar" for engaging and disengaging oscillation, on later models this was achieved by the ratchet oscillator wheel.  This fan also contained (a very rough) its original Silver Swan decal which stated "Pat. App. For", we were unfortunately unable to save that decal and added a modern replacement from the second generation Swan.  Fan has been completely disassembled and serviced, all wiring was upgraded to our period correct OTR+W cloth covered cord.  Fan operates perfectly as designed on one speed via a toggle switch located on the base.  Art in Motion!!!
