Circa 1929 Signal Electric cast aluminum 10" oscillating desk fan. This compact fan draws significant attention due to its super cool design gear mechanism design and streamlined aesthetic. An example of this model appeared on the cover of John Witt’s price guide in 1995. Finding one in good working condition is uncommon. This fan runs and oscillates on 1 speed as intended.  The aluminum can be polished to a mirror finish; however, we chose to leave it as found so the next owner can decide whether to polish or preserve the original finish.   The guard appears to have originally had a nickel finish that has worn, revealing a nice copper plating beneath.  The aluminum finish along with the copper plated cage adds to the industrial design.  The aluminum cage badge shows some blemishes that can be removed if desired.  The fan has been serviced. The power cord was previously updated and appears to be in good condition. A super cool fan with many unique characteristics!!
