Circa 1918 All Original Emerson 24645 9" Oscillating Desk Fan. Very unique and desirable 9" Emerson Oscillating desk fan featuring a unique "step base" design specific to the type 24645. We have cleaned and serviced this example by disassembling the gearbox and removing all old grease replacing with fresh and clean new lubrication. Both head wire and power cord have been upgraded to our OTR+W cloth covered power cord. Original finish on the cast iron base and motor is in very good condition, there is some paint chpping on the base and the gear box is missing paint also, but the japanned finish still shines like it is new! The brass Parker blade and cage are a beautiful golden tone and pair beautifully with the deep black original finish. This example runs and oscillates perfectly on three distinct speeds. Low speed provides a very soothing/calming breeze and is ideal for relaxation. The cast iron base design used on this fan is specific to this type and not used on any other Emerson model - the step base is narrower/smaller than other step base models. This fan is perfect for a daily running fan and provides a really nice "white" noise.
