Circa 1914 Emerson Type 21646 12" Oscillating Desk Fan Original. If you are seeking a fan for daily use that not only operates flawlessly but also looks absolutely stunning, this is an excellent choice. Manufactured by Emerson Electric in 1914, the Type 21646 was a popular residential model of its time—and more than 110 years later, it’s still running strong. This example retains its gorgeous original black finish with a deep, glossy shine that almost appears wet and still displays the original gold lettering on the Off setting.  There are a few places with missing paint as displayed in the photos, but they add charm and character to the fan.  It also features the desirable step base and ball detent oscillator wheel that is fully functional.  The brass cage and blade were polished in the past and are now developing a soft golden patina that adds a touch of sophistication and flair to the statuesque cast iron.  The fan runs and oscillates smoothly and quietly on three distinct speeds as intended. It has been fully cleaned, waxed, and serviced, with the gearbox disassembled, old grease removed, and fresh grease and oil added. The head wire and power cord have been upgraded using our premium USA made OTR+W cloth-covered wire. This is a beautiful and reliable fan that is perfect for daily operation and will complement any décor.
