Circa 1912 Robbins & Myers "Gearback" 12" Oscillating Desk Fan Superb Original Finish

Circa 1912 Robbins & Myers "Gearback" 12" Oscillating Desk Fan – Original Condition.  This model is R&M's first year mechanical oscillator which features a manual clutch adustment on top of the gear box. The fan is in superb original condition.  The deep black finish is glass like in its appearance, and it still retains some of the original pinstriping on the motor, speed indicators and faintly on the base – and the original grommets are still in very good condition.  There are a few spots of missing paint on the base which can be seen in photos.  It retains the original flag which looks to have been reinforced.  The brass cage and blades was polished at some point in the last century, and it is starting to develop a really nice golden patina.  The fan oscillates smoothly and there are three speeds with little variation between low and medium speeds.  We have fully serviced this fan for daily use. The oscillator box has been disassembled and cleaned of all old grease. New grease was placed in the box and on the gears for years of smooth operation. Oiler has been cleaned and fresh new wick installed with fresh oil and new rubber feet have been installed.  The head wire and power cord were upgraded with our premium USA produced OTR+W wire.  This original fan is in amazing condition and is perfect for daily use!
