Circa 1912 Paul Graves Professionally Restored Rare 12" Robbins & Myers Feathervane Oscillator Original Feather
From the "Museum Collection of Steve Cunningham" we are pleased to present this Paul Graves Professionally Restored 12" Robbins & Myers Feather Vane Oscillator with Original Feather. This example has a very important pedigree, it was the FIRST Entry into the AFCA Museum in August 1997 #101. Both Steve Cunningham and Paul Graves have been very instrumental in the growth of the antique fan community. On display in the museum since its opening in 1997, this entry was recently removed by Steve and is now being offered for sale. What an important fan and important history!!! Paul Graves is a master fan restorer/mechanic, and this is an excellent example of his artistry. Rich black enamel finish is accentuated with hand painted gold pinstripes. Brass was polished and lacquered by Paul at time or restoration and still looks amazing. Original and Very Rare Feather is still present and intact (very small chip/repair noted on the edge as seen in the photos). Fan operates as perfectly as it looks. An amazing example of early oscillating design combined with historical collector ownership and restoration by an icon within the hobby. Once in a lifetime opportunity acquisition.
