Original Circa 1912 Western Electric Hawthorn Double Lever Oscillator.  Manufactured by Westinghouse, this model was supplied to Western Electric who badged with their logo for retail sale.  We are pleased to offer such a wonderful example of this very desirable model.  The original Japan finish on this fan is in excellent condition, it has been cleaned and waxed to reveal its original beauty. The base does display some chipping around the edge which is common with models utilizing this base design.  Original brass components have developed a rich patina and show no signs of having been stripped or polished since new.  An interesting component is the tilt wing bolt on the gearbox, it has a nickel finish (this was the original wing bolt on the fan when found).  Upon inspection. the original worm gear had been damaged and was not usable.  We sent this fan to a superior fan machinist who precisely made a new worm gear to factory specification.  The new worm gear and original horizontal gear within the gearbox will need many more hours of use to seat together perfectly as it currently has slight gear noise which will go away with use.  Lubrication system has been fully serviced and the fan is ready for the next 100 years.  For safe operation, we installed our superior USA produced OTR+W head wire and power cord.  Fan runs and oscillates on 2 distinct speeds as designed.
