Circa 1912 16" GE Kidney Oscillator represents GE's second-generation oscillating fan. This example displays an older restoration paired with a beautiful brass cage and blades. This kidney is an example of GE's transition from the "drop ring" guard design to its "parallel ring" design. The parallel ring design used on this model was GE's deepest guard of this design. Far fewer examples demonstrate the transitional style guard leading to the timeline importance of this example. The fan operates on its intended three speeds, although it exhibits some blade balance issues at lower speeds. Gearbox has a crack and is missing a piece at the screw hole.
