Circa 1910 Robbins & Myers 8” “Open Commutator” Desk Fan. Fresh from a lifelong collection we are pleased to offer such an amazing all original example of this highly desirable model. Cast iron base, motor, and struts still retain their original finish which has been cleaned and waxed to reveal the shine it had when new. Motor has wonderful original gold leaf pinstripes still present showing how this example has been so well cared for over the years. Motor has been cleaned and serviced and will last for generations to come. Brass blade and guard retain much of the original factory lacquer and display smaller areas where the lacquer was thinner and a wonderful patina has developed. Original brass flag badge remains intact on the fan guard (a rare find). Power cord had been upgraded before we acquired this example and still appears to be in like new condition. Original fiber bottom cover is present and from the factory was stamped with the fans motor tag information. Switch lever can been seen "sneaking" from beneth the base and operates the fan on two distinct speeds when supplied with its factory specified voltage of 110 volts AC. Absolutely ideal for daily use, this fan operates perfectly smooth.
