Circa 1907 Original 12" “Lollipop” Desk Fan. This example is in excellent condition and runs and oscillates smoothly on its two intended speeds. The cast iron displays its beautiful original deep, glossy black japaned finish. At some point over the past century, the pinstripes were refreshed and hand-painted to factory specifications, and the brass components were polished and lacquered. The fan has been thoroughly cleaned and fully serviced, including brand-new wicks and fresh oil. While very close to perfect original condition, the upper and lower struts appear to have been stripped and refinished in a high-quality black finish that integrates very well with the original finish, and there are minimal almost unnoticeable brush touch-ups on the base. One strut clip has a minor crack. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a beautiful example of one of the most iconic antique desk fans.
