Circa 1899 General Electric Trunnion Mounted Pancake Motor Desk Fan.  This is a beautiful all original example of a pre 1900 GE Desk Fan.  Pre 1900 GE Pancakes have become very desirable and do not become available too often.  This fan was acquired from upstate NY and typically fans in these areas were not used too many months out of the year.  The paint is all original and was simply cleaned and waxed to reveal this beautiful shine.  We completely disassembled this fan and have serviced for another 100 plus years of service.  The original bearing still appeared to be in good condition for its age but to offer the best performance we replaced it with a new one.  Blade was professionally balanced by Paul Graves at Times Past Fans.  It is very rare for an early example such as this 1899 to still retain all its original components and I'm pleased to offer such a wonderful time capsule.  Fan runs on 2 speeds as designed using its original speed coil and switch knob.  All components are original to the fan (besides the bearing) and still retain the original patina they were found with.
