Circa 1896 12" GE Trunnion Mount "Football Tag". This model is an exceedingly rare find, with fewer than five known examples in existence.  Examples such as this very rarely become available and this being an all original example makes it that much more "special".  Being the first "pancake" model post Lynn Works design, It holds a special place in the history as well as representing the final year of production for a single speed desk fan (switchless).  

Remarkably, the fan remains complete and retains its original components, showcasing its authenticity and integrity. Notably, this model marked GE's initial foray into utilizing separate struts, though operational challenges prompted the company to revert to integral (cage/strut) struts in 1897 and 1898.

While the fan's original finish exhibits some expected signs of wear, this adds to its overall charm and serves as a testament to its age and usage. However, it is worth noting that the bearings have experienced noticeable wear, requiring attention. Additionally, the cage would benefit from straightening to restore its optimal shape and appearance.  The blade would also benefit from some balancing as a few wings appear to be tracking out of clock while in operation.  

This fan represents a truly unique and valuable piece of history and is quite possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity at acquiring for your  collection.
