Beautifully Restored Circa 1900 12" GE Pancake Motor Desk Fan.  All iron components were stripped of the remaining original finish and professionally finished in a deep black automotive enamel.  All brass components have been highly polished and lacquered to preserve the amazing shine.  Front bearing and shaft have been expertly duplicated by Darryl Hudson of Hudson's Custom Machining (well known machinist within the Fan Collecting Community).  Fan operates perfectly on two distinct speeds as designed from the factory.  Motor tag information list this as a 125 cycle model but as commonly happened the stator was changed over to 60 cycles at some point in its life.  Stator changes such as this are commonly found with fans as the electrical systems standard offering became 60 cycles and the consumer still had a desire to operate their fan.  The 1900 models offered by GE still carried the early non-vent hole motor (a characteristic of early GE Fan design).  The motor design is very sleek and simply, paired with the 10 wire guard this combination offers a great design balance.  An absolutely stunning example that runs as well as it looks.
