Very Rare "Castrite" of Topeka Kansas industrial column mounted circulator. The Castrite foundry made electric fan kits that came equipped with these cast aluminum blades and sold them wholesale. The buyer would then supply an electric motor of their choice. They also sold a heavy wire shroud, and a medallion for the center of the fan cage. These were designed to be industrial fan kits. I have a very detailed story on the history of this company and one of their salesman.
This fan is a great example of american industrial design. The history of how the foundry did the casting and metal work and then let the consumer choose the motor and installation method is very interesting. This fan has a 4 footed base that appears to be in great condition. Each wire of the cage has a small spot of gold paint as if the original owner was trying to replicate a copper oxide finish from the turn of the century.
The fan really moves some air and would be perfect in a loft decor.
