1899 12" GE Pancake Fan.  Beautiful General Electric Pancake Fan.  This fan still retains a beautiful original finish on the motor but I had to study it very hard to determine that the base and yoke has been painted.  This is the way I found this fan and don't know the history but whoever painted the base an yoke did a wonderful job.  The brass was polished at some point and has started to patina.  Fan has a new front bearing and runs excellent on both speeds.  One of the terminal knobs on the back is a replacement which is the only issue I can find with this fan.  Pancakes before 1900 are getting very difficult to find and this one is a beautiful example!!
